ALEKOS FASSIANOS

Alekos Fassianos was born in 1935. He studied the violin at the Athens Conservatory, and painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts, under Yiannis Moralis. In 1962 he continued his studies in Paris (on a French State Scholarship). There he attended lithography lessons along with Clairin and Caroline Chariot-Dayez. Since his first exhibition in Athens (1959) he has exhibited his work on more than 70 occassions worldwide. Apart from painting he has worked on book illustration, graphic design, poetry and writing. He has also collaborated with the National Theatre of Greece on theatrical projects. His work has been the subject of at least four Greek and French documentaries.
